Research Blog # 9: Arguement and Counter-Arguement

Argument: Stress affects students who are less affluent and the factors that coin anxiety are systematically disadvantaging women and the poor. Anxiety is often unspoken about and not treated accordingly. The environment directly affects or influences certain behavior which further can play a bad role in the learning environment and or even extracurricular activities.

Counter Argument: Dana Becker claims that people are so quick to diagnose stress as a disease and treat it through medication when we should be instead tackling the social issues that are the stressors in this situation. The environmental or interpersonal/ intrapersonal should be the main focus instead and those should be treated not one's self.
